Come, Thou Almighty King! [Family Worship lesson in Isaiah 10:20–11:16]

How will the kingdom of the Son of Jesse come, when the line of David has been cut down to a stump? Isaiah 11 looks forward to the first serial reading in morning public worship on the coming Lord’s Day. In these sixteen verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that there was coming a King Who is Himself the Almighty, and who will be our ultimate Noah, our ultimate Moses, and our ultimate David—Who regains paradise, reverses the fall, retrieves the nations, and revenges them.
